Home... and a Day of Models

I'm home. It wasn't a great trip. Now that the last of my family living in the Fairy realms has died, I never, EVER have to visit again. Which is good. In fact, it's great. I'm not a fan of that world, and I'm happy that I don't need to return. Ever.

And that's all I care to say about that.

Life in the Kingdom went on without me, and I returned home to find out we were booked to do a photography gig for DDE. So the day after I returned, I found myself helping supervise a modeling shoot at Wightwick Manor in Norm's Dollhouse.

Lots of activity and a bunch of chattering pixies.

Madera, our intrepid photographer, was all ready to go!

Our own Harley Haug and Tabby had been hired as models too. I don't think that I've never seen Harley in a dress before. I don't think she liked it. Tabby was comforting her, but I think they both looked lovely.

There were models of different sizes. Saffron, of the awesome red hair, was our makeup and wardrobe specialist for the day. She's awesome at that kind of thing.

CJ came too. I think he offered to be a model, but we didn't need a boy model so he was off the hook. Which is good, since I think everyone knew the real reason he wanted to come along.

Though, between excursions looking for his ghost girl, he did help set up.

I think Saffron was a little less than impressed with her "makeup table" setup.

But she was a real trooper and got set up and got straight to work without a single complaint.

I'm not sure the models were really ready for a supervisor like Saffron. She's pretty nice, but when it comes to fashion, and makeup and photoshoots, she's all business.

Madera, on the other hand, is a total soft touch.

She supervised the photo shoots, got everyone organized and placed and everything. Things were going pretty well.

But I knew that Saffron, who's done more of this kind of thing than I have, wouldn't have brought an entire box of ibuprofen in her case without a reason. There was some sniping back and forth between the professional models, and little drama here and there, but nothing big until...

One of the models got upset about something, and locked herself in the bathroom. And she wouldn't come out.

Madera continued her shoot, though. Even without her. And I think it came out pretty good. You'll get to see all the pictures when the ad/article/whatever hits the magazine.

While the models changed back into street clothes, Saffron, Madera and I took a much needed rest on the front steps. Exhausting stuff, but a great excuse to hang out in the Manor.

CJ never did see Rose, though I don't think he ever stopped looking. Maybe she's gone on? I don't know. I felt bad for CJ, though.

The rest of us celebrated a photoshoot well done (and the model finally coming out of the bathroom) with a lovely bottle of wine, compliments of the Wightwick Manor folks.  Nice!

So the models didn't make it back to DDE before they closed today, and now they're staying overnight in the Kingdom. Two are staying with me.

And you know what's chatty? Two pixie models after a photoshoot. I hope the ones staying with Devika are quieter.

Anyway, that was my day. First day back and it's straight back to work.

And if you want to know the truth, I missed it, working in the Kingdom, I mean.

It's good to be home.

Night night.
