Pictures from a Pixie Halloween Party - Part 1

It was an amazing Halloween party, held in beautiful Wightwick Manor (located in Norm's Dollhouse, Centennial, Colorado).

I don't have any stories to tell, so I'm just uploading a bunch of Madera's pictures. I'll tell you a little about the pixies in them, but it's really just like looking at photo album. I hope it makes you feel like you were there with us, 'cause it was awesome and I wish you had been.

We're definitely having a Christmas party there in December. Definitely.

So here are some pictures of pixies at a Halloween party. Enjoy. :)

A pair of wallflowers, on either side of a wall. Taelyn came as a mummy, and the blue dress is Calyx being a Goddess I think.

Devika (Taelyn's sister) came as a princess, and oddly enough the mouse who seems to have caught her romantic interest, Lon Pamplemouse, came as a prince. Coincidence? Hmm. :)

Mr. Thorne came dressed as a Huntsman, and took turns dancing with all the ladies. Here, Madera caught him cutting the rug with Ophelia, the spider wrangler.

Dance music was provided by awesome cover band, Wild Honey and the Stingers. They were pretty good! Though there's something familiar about that lead singer and it sort of gives me a creepy feeling. Dunno. They sounded awesome, though.

CJ Pender wore his Beethoven costume again (okay, so some people say he looks like Einstein, but I think he looks like Beethoven).

I don't know if it counts as a costume if you're already a cat, and just come with a tail on. But I won't say anything to Lily Purrjon about it. She looked very sweet, talking to Echo.

Harley as Batpig, talking to my sister, Juno.

Calyx still being a wallflower.

Lacrymosa came as the most terrifying thing she could think of: a pink princess. I could see that.

Tia, getting up the nerve to start dancing (she's a little shy).

This is Aspen's friend, Terra. She came as a cave pixie, and I think she looks AWESOME! I didn't get to talk to her much at the party, but she seems like a sweetie. And boy can she handle a spear! :)

More pictures soon!

Miranda and Green Elephant - Pt 2

(When we last left Miranda, she was trying to figure out how to get into the Green Elephant...)

*There's another door around the back!*

*drat! It's locked too! Sad to see a business so paranoid they have to keep their doors locked all the time.*

*sigh... but there has to be a way in. I'll pay for the bird. I'll leave a note. I'll... hey.*

*I could pay for a window too...*

*Okay... here we go, Ixie. We'll take the bird, leave a note with the money for the window and the bird and go home.*

*No one is around... no one will know... they brought it on themselves by never being open!*

Male Voice: Miranda?

Miranda: EEP! Oh... hey! Mr. Thorne! Hi there!

Thorne: Hi, Miri. Lovely morning, isn't it?

Miranda: Yes, yes. Um...Mr. Thorne, I've been admiring everything in this store through the windows, but they're never open! Do you know who owns it?

Thorne: As a matter of fact, I do! And you have great timing.

Miranda: I do?

Thorne: You do! This is MY store, and it's now open! Welcome! Please come right in, you're our first customer!

Miranda: *whispering* I'd say that Mr. Thorne is the one with great timing. So um... don't tell him about the rock, okay? Thanks. Shhhh.

Miranda and the Green Elephant - Pt 1

We find Miranda on a rather uneventful Sunday morning, at C&M Books and Coffee.

*okay, enough web surfing*

*there has to be SOMETHING I need to get done today*

*but what?*

*I hung up Lelu's signs for her candy shop grand opening. That's going to be a blast.*

*I tried all of our Halloween treats, and I think if I eat any more I will be sick.*

*Put out all of the "horror" books we've got... so what's left?*

*Hmm... well, I could go see if the Green Elephant is open*

*Sebastian and Eris aren't around. They take Sundays off.*

*Apparently so does whoever runs the Green Elephant. Though they seem to take EVERY day off.*

*The glass bird.... I want it. A lot*

*Well, maybe they're just a "walk on in" kind of place?... Locked, I guess not.*

*Well... shoot."

*But there HAS to be a way in. I could just leave some money on the counter and a note and take the bird if I could just get IN...Hmm....*

Miranda Ixie - Spider Wrangler

Tuesday morning found me having coffee with Aspen at C&M. We'd decorated the Manor on Saturday, and left the spiders to cover everything in webs. They'd had two, uninterrupted days of web making while Norm's Dollhouse was closed, and today we were going back to see what they'd made of the place. I couldn't wait.

While walking to C&M, noticed The Green Elephant... STILL not open. But I keep seeing lights on in the back room first thing in the morning and at night. Someone is THERE, I just never see them. But at least they're there. I'll spot them at some point and get them to let me in!

Anyway, we headed off to Norm's. And that's when things got weird.

We knew something was wrong the second we saw the Manor.

No webs. But even worse. No spiders.

We looked everywhere.

No sign of them.

No good day EVER started with the words "Where are the giant spiders? Do you see them anywhere?"

We kept looking for them, but Aspen was afraid we'd startle them and they'd eat us.

They were nowhere to be found anywhere near the Manor. But while searching there, we spotted where they'd gone.

They'd made a little nest for themselves off under the wallpaper paste. And yes... there were two little doll shaped forms in their web.

Not.

Good.

I called Ophelia, our resident Spider Wrangler and the one we borrowed the spiders from. She said she was pretty tied up with something, but she could probably come round them up for us on Friday or so.

I figured we were going to have to handle it ourselves.

And we did.

Between the two of us, Aspen and I got the spiders back on track and back on the Manor for decorating.

The legal settlement I came to with the couple the spiders nabbed does not allow me to show you their pictures, or state their names. I'm just glad they're okay and that we were able to come to an agreement.

So, that was a pretty rough morning. Aspen is still a little freaked out by spiders, and I don't blame her. I don't think that couple is so fond of them either.

Later, my buddies Periwinkle and her friend (whose name I didn't catch) came by with THEIR spiders. They're really awesome spider wranglers, and it was way awesome to see them. But where were they when I NEEDED a spider wrangler?!?!?

Well, I guess now I'm a spider wrangler too.

Ugh.
