I am so busy I don't hardly know if I'm coming or going, but I wanted to give you a quick update on everything going on.
We've been working very hard to get
C&M up and ready to go again. After everyone left last night, I took a moment to just take in my little shop, and enjoy what may be the last quiet night her for a long time. I don't mind sharing, it's a neat place, but it was kind of cool to have it all to myself one last time.
And this morning, C&M reopened! It was fabulous. Not too busy (no advertising will do that for you.) but busy enough. Pixies have figured out we're back, and it was great. We're working on getting the shop decorated for Halloween now, and putting together our "horror" book section, which is pathetic. (Also, Clara and I find Twilight horrifying for different reasons, but we do both agree it belongs in horror.)
This is our newest employee, Nyssa. She's awesome, and she's been a great asset. Also, hiding out in the back of this picture, Beatrice, Clara's cousin, who also came back to work for us.
From one of the upstairs windows, I can see the
Green Elephant Thrift and Consignment Shop, and I thought for sure I saw someone in there this morning.
But when I ran over to look through the windows (and hoping for an "open" sign) I didn't see anyone.
This is getting frustrating. Nyssa and Clara suggested that maybe they're not open on Mondays, like
Norm's. I guess we'll see tomorrow.
And because I'm nuts, I decided I wanted another dollhouse. Not that there's room in my roombox for the one I already built, but when the Villa is finished there'll be PLENTY of room. Perhaps a charming gazebo?
I love the ones with big porches and fancy balconies. But I really just don't have room, so I gave up until...
I discovered that we'd gotten in little roomboxes that are just the right size! They fit in a corner and I could even have it in my roombox until I move!
Perfect! Now I just have to figure out when exactly I'm going to have time to put this together. Tomorrow, back to Norm's Dollhouse to plan/start decorating the Manor for our C&M Halloween Party! It's going to be amazing! And I still have to find my costume. And make up invitations for our customers. And...
... yeah, it's kind of busy here. But I wanted to let you know what was up and where I've been for the last week. Hope the first day of October is treating you well too! I'll let you know how decorating goes!
